Domaine Leroy - Saint-Aubin - 1993 - Saint-Aubin

Red wine

Description

This wine is distinguished by its deep, slightly evolved red color, which reflects its age and maturity.
The nose is highly complex, unfolding subtle aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberry and blackcurrant, enveloped by earthy and slightly undergrowth notes. Spicy nuances, even a hint of leather, enrich this olfactory palette, offering a sensation of depth and refinement.
On the palate, the wine reveals impressive elegance and finesse, with a silky texture and well-melted tannins. The already well-integrated black fruit flavors blend with accents of licorice, undergrowth, and truffle, bringing an additional dimension to the overall experience. The perfectly controlled acidity ensures a beautiful freshness, while maintaining balance with the wine's richness. The long finish is marked by slightly spicy notes and a smooth feel, leaving a lingering impression of a perfectly harmonious vintage.
An exceptional wine, remarkably mature, offering a beautiful representation of its terroir and the expertise of Domaine Leroy.

Know a bit more about the domain

Maison Leroy was founded in 1968 by François Leroy, a winemaker in Pommard, Meursault, Chambertin, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, and Richebourg, with the aim of expanding his estate. His son, Henri Leroy, took the reins in 1919 and propelled the company to rapid growth. In 1942, the Maison became the owner of half of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, an investment to which Henri devoted his life.

Lalou Bize-Leroy, Henri's daughter, joined the company in 1955, succeeding her father as President and CEO of Maison Leroy, and co-managing Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. A pioneer of biodynamic farming, she purchased several estates in 1988, always striving for perfection. Today, Domaine Leroy, with an area of 21.99 hectares, has 9 Grands Crus, 8 Premiers Crus and 9 Villages, producing rare and very rich vintages.
