Château Haut-Brion - Château Haut-brion Grand Cru - 1969 - Graves

Red wine

Description

There is a dress of great depth, with ten deep rubies here, with years, ont évolué vers des nuances plus ambrées, témoignant de sa belle maturité.
It is enthralled and offers a rare complexity in which the aromas of dark fruits, blackberries, cassis and plums are mixed together with notes of fine leather, tobacco and cedar. A subtle touch of sous-bois et de truffe complete this olfactory palette, showcasing a wine here parfaitement vieilli, tout en preservant une grande fraîcheur aromatique.
The bouquet has a large richness and a velvety texture. The tans, well melted, bring an elegant structure that is rich in intense aromas of dark fruits and prunes, evolving over the notes of cèdre and réglisse. The balance between roundness and finesse is masterly, with a beautiful acidity here balancing the richness of the wine, offering a sensation of fraîcheur and lightness despite its maturity.
The finale is long, persistent, and marquée par des épicées et légèrement boisées notes, making it always delicate and refined. A wine here perfectly embodies the complexity, elegance and finesse of the great Bordeaux.

Know a bit more about the domain

The prestigious Château Haut-Brion, founded in 1553 by Jean de Pontac, is distinguished by its pioneering role in the history of wine. It was the first Bordeaux vintage to bear the estate's name, at a time when wines were sold anonymously. A pioneer of modern techniques, such as racking and aging in oak barrels, Haut-Brion was the only grand cru classé in the Graves appellation in 1855. Owned by the Dillon family since 1935, they acquired La Mission Haut-Brion in 1983. Haut-Brion does not have "small" vintages and has exceptional aging potential, with years like 1961 and 1989 illustrating the greatness of this wine, among the best in the world. Its second wine, formerly Bahans, has been called Clarence de Haut-Brion since 2007.
