Description

The Domaine de Venus was born out of the desire of a dozen friends and wine lovers to come together to lead an estate towards the excellence of great local wines.
This terroir is that of the Fenouillèdes, on the heights of the Agly Valley (Valley of the Eagle in Catalan) with a soil composed mainly of black shale.
Since 2003, they have continued to advance the vintages in red, white and gastronomy, as well as gourmet rosés, which are acclaimed every year by wine lovers.
The year 2015 marks an important turning point for the field. Building on the success of the Venus vintages, the estate acquires 15 hectares of vineyards, certified organic agriculture. They then choose to convert all the vines in a constant concern to respect the terroir and improve the quality of the wines. All production has been certified Organic Agriculture since the end of 2018.
The estate now has more than 60 plots, all of different size and exhibition, making it an exceptional area because of its originality and its formidable eclecticism.

Vin ample et vif, qui surprend par sa fraîcheur pour un 2014. Notes de fleurs blanches, de fruits blancs, de zest. Belle salinité et longue finale sur des notes toastées.
L'Effrontée a reçu la note de 93/100 par Decanter, et la médaille d'or au concours prix plaisir de Bettane+Desseauve en 2020 avec le commentaire suivant : "Assez hors norme avec sa palette aromatique orginale, intense et savoureuse. Il a un style qu'on ne rencontre pas souvent."

2013 - Côtes du Roussillon Villages
La cuve Passions allie puissance et fraîcheur. Typique des grands Roussillon, cette cuvée présente un nez généreux de fruits noirs, de cacao, de garrigue et quelques touches fumées. La bouche est souple et charnue, dotée d’une belle longueur. Le vin est puissant mais la matière est très digeste et les notes de garrigue apportent une belle fraîcheur à cette cuvée.
Passions 2013 s'est vue attribuer l'excellente note de 95/100 par le magazine Decanter en 2020.

The Venus estate is located in Maury, Roussillon. Most of the vines are located in Saint Paul de Fenouillet, on shale hillsides from 300 to 500m above sea level. Swallowed in yields, this terroir produces wines imbued with freshness and high potential for ageing. The estate now covers 34 hectares, 27 of which are in production, and has been certified organic since the 2019 harvest. Local grape varieties are in the spotlight: White Grenache, Grey Grenache, Macabeu, Vermentino for whites. Syrah, grenache, carignan, mourvèdre for reds. See less
