Maison Besserat de Bellefon, created in 1843 by Edmond Besserat, still retains the attributes of the Champagne nobility today.
Maison Besserat de Bellefon was founded in Aÿ in 1843 by Edmond Besserat. Originally from Hautvillers, over the years he has imposed his artisanal know-how by creating vintages which he decides to distribute to the most renowned hotels, restaurants and wine merchants. After Edmond, the family continued the work undertaken. His grandsons, Victor and Edmond, learned a passion for a job well done, a sense of excellence and high standards.
One outstanding technician, the other distinguished taster are complementary and work in total harmony. They will continue to strengthen the reputation and image of their House. In 1920, the marriage of Edmond to Yvonne de Méric de Bellefon, of Champagne nobility, sealed the beginning of the legend of Champagne Besserat de Bellefon and endowed the House with the family coat of arms.
