Domaine Bruno Clair - Les Longeroies - 2022 - Marsannay

Red wine

Description

Made exclusively from Pinot Noir, this wine comes from a 1.36-hectare plot planted between 1924 and 1980, which offers richness and complexity. The vines, rooted in clay-limestone soil and a subsoil of Prémeaux limestone, enriched with marl and scree, produce a structured and mineral wine.

Located at an altitude of 300 m and facing east/southeast, the plot allows for slow maturation, ideal for the balance of the grapes.

Vinification includes 30 to 50% whole bunches and a 10 to 15-day maceration in wooden vats, followed by 18 to 20 months of aging in oak barrels (25% new), providing finesse and complexity.

On tasting, the wine presents a ruby color, a nose of red fruits, and a palate combining freshness, elegance, and finesse. It can be kept for at least 4 years.

Know a bit more about the domain

Domaine Bruno Clair was founded in 1979 by Bruno Clair, the sixth generation of a winegrowing family whose roots date back to the early 19th century. Heir to the Clair-Daü estate, which broke up in 1985 following family disputes, Bruno created his own estate by taking over part of the family vineyards, with the help of his brothers and sisters.

Since then, the estate has continued to expand, now encompassing prestigious appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, Marsannay, and Corton-Charlemagne.

In 2005, his wife Isabelle joined the adventure, followed by their children in 2010. Edouard, Margaux, and Arthur now take over, each with clearly defined responsibilities, perpetuating a family tradition with rigor and passion.
