Mastering the art of tasting
Your host:
Enjoy half a day in the heart of the region and discover all the secrets of cognac making, in a small family property.
If you need transportation, don't worry! A private guide will take care of the transport, from the Angoulême station to the estate.
We will welcome you directly to the farmyard and guide you to the old distillery where you will discover the basics of cognac distillation, the birth of the appellation, its know-how and its planetary influence.
Be aware that two courses will then be offered to you according to:
- During the Spring-Summer period, the vines hatch. The good weather will be good to discover the vines in permaculture on the anticlinal of Hiersac. Head to the plot called "Chez Marinette" as a collector's vehicle, where a member of the Bourgoin family will give you a landscape reading: the way of cultivation, the soils, the vintages and the grape varieties of the vineyard.
- During the Autumn-Winter season, it is the cognac distillation campaign. Like an apprentice winemaker, retrace step by step the process of producing this elixir of life.
Once back at the estate, you will pass by the microbarric cellars where you will taste 3 cognacs emblematic of the family: Microbarrique, Brut de Fût, Fine Pale... Not to mention our delicious Pineaux and verjus.
You will be welcome at the family table for lunch, in the company of Muguette, Alain and Frédéric Bourgoin. A great opportunity for you to talk to the winemaker about the various intrigues of Cognac. Be seduced by the sharing, passion and conviviality present in this family!

Bourgoin Cognac is a real winemaker's cognac. Work of a complex symbiosis between 4 kingdoms: the mineral, the animal, the plant and above all the human. François Bourgoin considers himself a true craftsman, so I chose quality over quantity. A hint of innovation, a natural approach and excessive transparency. See less
