Domaine des Roches Neuves - Thierry Germain - Clos du Moulin - 2022 - Saumur

White wine

Description

On the nose this cuvée presents intense aromas of citrus, exotic fruits, lime blossom as well as menthol notes. The palate is concentrated in fruit, balanced by a very nice acidity drawing the contours of the substance and providing length. A promising vintage revealing all the potential of a great terroir!

Know a bit more about the domain

In Varrains, 5km from Saumur, the Domaine des Roches Neuves is located in the heart of the Loire Valley.
The vineyard, very fragmented, is made up of 61 plots which extend over 28 hectares in the Saumur Champigny appellation, for red wines, and Saumur, for white wines.
Created in 1850 by the Duveau family, Thierry and Marie Germain took over the Domaine in 1991.
Initially covering 12 hectares of Cabernet Franc, the Estate was expanded by 2 hectares of Chenin and 8 hectares of Cabernet Franc in 1996.
In 2012, the vineyard was enriched with new plots: Clos de l’Echelier and Les Mémoires.
At the same time, the Estate was entirely converted to organic cultivation at the end of the 1990s, then to biodynamic cultivation at the beginning of the 2000s.
