Orange wine from this very pretty south-facing vine, with a gabbro terroir, offers a very healthy harvest. Vinification: The harvested grapes are put into vats for skin maceration for approximately 1 week. The pressed grapes ferment in closed underground vats, and remain on lees without added sulfur for 1 year. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is complete and the wine is around 12.5% strong. The style of this orange wine is very complex. It will be enjoyed with smoked fish. mountain cheeses and cold meats.

The Haut Planty estate is an entirely family farm of around twenty hectares. Although mainly located in the Muscadet appellation, many of the Haut Planty vintages are labeled “vin de France”. Because Alain and Christian are committed to producing wines that they love and do not wish to be locked into any specifications. Most often, they deliver wines without added sulphites, maturing on lees, sometimes skin macerations for a superb cuvée of orange wine. In short, here all the work in the vineyard and wine, from A to Z, is done within the family. Versatility is essential, but Christian takes particular care of the vines, Alain, of winemaking and sales. Don’t hesitate to visit them!
