Description
Now converted into a cellar to visit, the Monastery of La Mejorada is visited by discovering its places full of stories.
We invite you to take a guided tour of the place, starting with the area where we can talk about its history and the renovation of its architecture. We will focus mainly on the Mudéjar Chapel dating from the 15th century, being the jewel of these places. You will also have the opportunity to visit the queen's loft, which gives its name to one of our latest wines. We will show you the day-to-day work in the vineyards and the process of making our wines, so you can visit part of the vineyard and the production area.
Afterwards, we will take you to taste 3 of our wines; Las Norias, Tiento and Las Cercas, accompanied by a selection of local handicrafts.
We will be delighted to welcome you to La Mejorada, and to show you the history of these places!

It was in 1999 that the company Bodegas y Viedos La Mejorada, settled on the remains of a monastery built at the end of the 15th century by hieronymite monks, located a few kilometers from the city of Olmedo, in the province of Valladolid. Thus begins the planting of the vines on the 140 hectares of land that surround the monastery, and a restoration of it. In 2004, the cellar was installed in the remains of the monastery around the cloister. The family business Rafael Moneo became the owner of La Mejorada in 2007. See less
