Description

Golan Heights Winery, Israel's leading producer of quality wines, was established in 1983 by four kibbutzim and four moshavim (cooperative communities).

From its founding until today, the Winery has made its mark and expanded its influence on the Israeli wine world. Its establishment changed the local wine map and shaped the perception of wine quality in the mind of the Israeli consumer.

The Winery produces four labels with a range of varieties and styles: Yarden, Gamla, Hermon and Golan.

We would be happy to welcome you for a presentation of our wine. We explain the work done in the wine, then the work done in the winemaking and finally the refinement of the wines. Finally, we offer you a tasting of some of our millennials.
We welcome you very soon in the field!

Wine Country - Our creative philosophy Our ever-evolving and expanding knowledge of the Golan Heights wine region allows our winemakers and winemakers to create different types and styles of quality wines. Every wine we produce is part of a puzzle. The versatility of our terroir is rare in the world of wine, this puzzle is particularly complex. The more we learn, the more our belief in the enormous potential of the Golan Heights as an exceptional wine region grows. As Victor Schoenfeld, Chief Winemaker, says: "Wine conveys a sense of belonging. It is possible to feel the terroir of a wine in its flavor, aroma and colour. Wine expresses the culture, language and people of a place. » Our vision Leading the culture of quality wine in Israel is not a slogan for us; it is rather our goal and our way of life for each of us in the cellar. It begins with the study of our terroir, continues with the creation of our wines, and underlines the special actions we undertake for consumers of quality wines and professionals in the wine industry. We strive to produce quality wines that will express the distinctive characteristics of the Golan Heights: our unique volcanic soils; our snowstorms in winter, and the long hot days and cold nights of summer; our windy and sunny vineyards; and our team of winemakers and winemakers, each with impressive experience, ability and creativity. Our vineyards Currently, the winery maintains about 6,300 dunams (630 hectares) of grape vineyards. The winery planted about 20 varieties of grapes in 28 vineyards spread over about 450 blocks, at altitudes ranging from 400 to nearly 1,200 meters. Each block of vineyard is mapped and catalogued, with constant monitoring of its various parameters including soil conductivity, growth, water condition in the vineyard, etc. Based on the knowledge gained over the years, we can understand the characteristics, capabilities, development and health of the block. This information is essential for making decisions throughout the year and during the harvest. The blocks are harvested separately, and their wines are stored separately in stainless steel vats in order to maintain their identity and uniqueness until the final assembly. From this wide selection of small blocks, our winemakers can choose the most suitable blocks for the wine concerned. The decision to bottle wines from a single vineyard was made in the cellar only after many years of monitoring and studying the uniqueness and potential of each vineyard. Unique vineyard wines are produced only in vintages where the quality of the grapes is exceptional and the terroir of the vineyard is clearly expressed in the wine. See less
