Know a bit more about the domain

Domaine Derey Frères is a family winery located in Couchey, Burgundy, with roots dating back to 1650. Claude Derey was the first to settle in Couchey, anchoring the family in the Dijon region. In the 1950s, brothers Albert and Maurice laid the foundations of the modern estate. Albert played a key role in the recognition of the Marsannay appellation and oversaw the replanting of Clos des Marcs d'Or in 1981, a historic monopoly of the Dukes of Burgundy. Today, the sixth generation is represented by brothers Maxime (31), Romain (30), and Pierre-Marie (27). Since 2020, the estate has been undergoing organic conversion, covering 20 hectares spread from Dijon to Gevrey-Chambertin, including iconic climates such as Montre Cul, Les Valendons, Champs Perdrix, Les Genelières, Champs Salomon, Les Vignes Marie, Les Hervelets and Craite-Paille. The estate practices careful vinification, with slow maceration for the reds and moderate pressing for the whites, aiming to faithfully reflect the terroir.
