Domaine André Robert - Les vignes de Montigny - Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Extra Brut - BSA - Champagne

White wine

Description

This vintage is made from two plots on the southern slopes of Montigny sous Châtillon, the localities “Les Grillons” and “Les Vignes de la haie benoit”. The exposure is due south, and the plots are made up of young Pinot Noir and old Meunier vines.
We find a balanced blend of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir in equal proportions, and from the 2020 harvest (th vintage not claimed).
This vintage is vinified for the majority in oak barrels, and also in stainless steel vats on fine lees, the dosage is only 2.5g/L.

This wine presents the freshness of perfectly ripe bunches, with notes of black cherry, violet and blue fruits.
The palate is medium-bodied and presents a nice concentration, a refined mousse and a long and floral finish. It has the structure to gain in complexity over the years.

Know a bit more about the domain

Domaine André Robert is above all a family affair. The Robert family has been working the vines in Champagne for several generations.
Henri Robert began working the vineyard “en masse” after the First World War. In the 1930s, he created the first group of winegrowers in order to pool pressing and winemaking resources.
Immediately after the Second War, André Robert worked the vineyard with the horse as his companion. In 1960 he bought the House which has these marvelous 19th century chalk cellars and where our bottles currently rest. He began marketing his bottles of Champagne in 1962.
Immersed in the world of Champagne since his early childhood, Bertrand Robert took over the estate in 1981, accompanied by his wife Colette who joined the House in 1990.
In 2013, it was Claire Robert who returned, the daughter of Bertrand and Colette. Bertrand gradually entrusts him with the queens of the Domaine. Jean-Baptiste Denizart, her husband, returned to the Domaine in 2016. Since 2019, they have both managed the operation. Production is focused on the production of Grands Crus Champagnes, Blanc de Blancs du Mesnil sur Oger.
